UNESCO nominates the UIC+Sostenible project as one of three Spanish candidates for a world prize

The sustainability project UIC+Sostenible headed up by Silvia Albareda, a Faculty of Education lecturer and the university's Director of Sustainability, has been chosen as one of the three Spanish candidates for the UNESCO world prize in the category Education for Sustainable Development. The project encompasses activities promoted to the university community that demonstrate a clear commitment to sustainability.

UIC+Sostenible is a project that operates at all levels of university life with the aim that, based on criteria which integrate the different aspects of sustainability (social, environmental and economic), the way we and society at large go about our daily lives is ever more aligned to sustainability, achieved in an innovative way.

The next step towards winning the award as the world's best project in respect of Education for Sustainable Development is for UNESCO Paris to select UIC+Sostenible as one of the three finalists.
