Válida sin Barreras renews its sponsorship of the Postgraduate Degree in Accessibility and Design for All

The programme will begin its eighth edition in October and will maintain its online format

For the seventh straight year, Válida sin Barreras, a company specialising in accessibility solutions, will sponsor the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture’s Postgraduate Degree in Accessibility and Design for All, the eighth edition of which is due to start next year.

The agreement was signed on 15 June on the University’s Barcelona Campus. The company was represented by its manager, Francesc Nonó, and UIC Barcelona by the rector, Xavier Gil Mur, the director of the School of Architecture, Josep Lluis i Ginovart, the School’s manager, Yolanda Espina, and the director of the postgraduate degree, architect Enrique Rovira-Beleta.

Rovira-Beleta wanted to thank Válida sin Barreras for their commitment to the postgraduate degree he directs. “It is an honour that one of Spain’s leading companies in the field of accessibility has maintained its trust in our programme ever since the second edition”, he pointed out. Afterwards, the director of the School, Josep Lluis i Ginovart, recalled the fact that “UIC Barcelona is the only school of architecture in Spain that includes Accessibility as a compulsory subject in its study programme”.

The Postgraduate Degree in Accessibility and Design for All is the first formal academic initiative at a university level in Spain to approach this subject from a global perspective. To do so, it uses a real-time online format that allows participants to follow the course from anywhere in the world and interact with their professors and classmates via videoconference.

Válida sin Barreras is currently one of the leading Spanish companies in vertical solutions and the eradication of architectural barriers. It also offers accessibility products and services that, coupled with their personalised service, help improve people’s quality of life, making life easier and safer.
