a) To add to general knowledge, the basic and fundamental aspects of the techniques and tools for economic evaluation of medications and medical technologies.
b) To provide an international perspective of the use of economic evaluation to inform healthcare decisions.

Also the principles of health technology assessment and economic assessment in decision-making and, finally, problems related to difficult access to health care.
