Introduction

The Internship course allows students to make their first contact with the world of work and gain professional experience in the Journalism sector. It allows students to apply in the market the concepts learned in classes, workshops and workshops, always supervised by the academic tutor of the University and the tutor assigned by the company.

A minimum of 150 hours of work experience must be completed in a company located in Spain that is related to the audiovisual and communication sector, such as the media, advertising agencies, communication departments in private and public companies...

TRAINING ACTIVITY ECTS CREDITS
Coaching. Monitoring how students learn the content of the subject, either individually or in groups. In the coaching sessions, mistakes will be corrected, queries answered, and exercises and activities to achieve the established objectives will be suggested. 9.8
Lectures. In lectures, lecturers/professors not only transmit content or knowledge, but also, and above all else, attitudes, motivation, skills and values, etc. They also ensure that participants can express their opinions and arguments to the other students. 0.2

Evaluation systems and criteria

In person



  • Evaluation of the company tutor: 40%.
  • Assessment of those responsible for the subject: 60%. This mark includes:

The student's report (40%)
Attendance and participation in the information session and professional workshops (20%).


Important considerations:

  1. If the Work Placement course is failed, the student must return to another company to do the work placement. If the report is failed, the student will only have to repeat the report.
  2. The student must hand in all the required documents in order to be assessed. If any document is missing, the internship will not be assessed and the student will have to re-enrol. The documents to be submitted are as follows:
  • Student's internship report
  • Agreement signed between the student and the company
  • Make sure that the tutor's evaluation reaches the people in charge of the subject.
  • If the student abandons the placement, he/she must inform both the university and the company 15 days in advance, as well as submitting a report explaining the reasons for his/her resignation. The internship supervisors will weigh up the reasons for the student's withdrawal. If the reasons are not compelling, the student will not be allowed to do any more placements in the current academic year. In any case, the student's withdrawal from the placement will be filed in his/her file.
  • In the case of curricular internships, the procedure is the same. The student must submit the report and must send us both the agreement and the company tutor's assessment. If they fail to do so or drop out of the internship, their internship will not appear on the academic certificate.
