Competences/Learning outcomes of the degree programme

  • CN04 - Demonstrate a critical understanding of a wide diversity of theories, principles and concepts, including the most important ones in relation to the scientific field or professional field of the area of ​​Periodontics and Implants.
  • CN05 - Demonstrate broad and detailed knowledge, as well as critical understanding, of some of the most relevant current issues, topics and specialties in relation to the area of ​​Periodontics and Implants, the scientific field or the professional field.
  • CP01 - Apply a correct diagnosis and treatment plan in the periodontal patient scientifically supported by current literature in periodontics and implants.

Learning outcomes of the subject

  • - Review of Literature and Research and Statistics Methodologies - CN04, CN05, HB03, HB04, HB14, CP01, CP06, CP07 - 1. Perform a critical analysis of scientific articles. 2. Defend the surgical and non-surgical procedures and treatments carried out in a clinical case based on scientific literature. 3. Correctly apply the classification of periodontal and peri-implant diseases and their stages. 4. Define the prevalence, incidence, severity and risk factors of periodontal and peri-implant diseases. 5. Apply the theoretical knowledge acquired to the daily clinical practice of treatment with dental implants. 6. Identify statistical methods and their applications in the field of Periodontics. 7. Distinguish between quantitative and qualitative research models, identifying the main advantages and limitations of both models.
