Projects 7 and Projects 8 make up the last cycle of projects prior to obtaining the title of architect, and guide the student to the preparation of the End of Degree Thesis. In both subjects, the intervention is considered in a complex metropolitan environment that requires simultaneous work on a local and regional scale, and the integration of social, environmental and economic variables from an innovative approach. In this context, the student develops the cyclic sequence analysis - synthesis - project in a broad scalar route that covers from the landscape to the constructive detail in two consecutive projects duly differentiated. It is not a question of defining a building exhaustively, but of working with all the dimensions within the design process, to understand that, if you work on a scale, it entails repercussions, versus all those above and below.
Throughout this process, the student alternates group work to resolve the definition of the territorial structure and urban areas of opportunity, with individual work to address the project of the buildings and adjacent public spaces in its entirety . The various individual proposals must contribute to the construction of a unitary and visually coherent civic matrix. Likewise, each specific intervention must incorporate the necessary program of uses to generate centrality and promote the regeneration of the metropolitan environment.
Pre-course requirements
Have passed the project subjects up to Projects 6.
Attendance at classes is mandatory. The list will be weighed at the beginning and at the end of the session. It will be necessary to have attended 80% of the sessions throughout 100% of their duration.
Objectives
Projects 8 aims to prepare the student for professional practice by dealing with the development of the subject of Final Degree Project. For this purpose, they contemplate the following general objectives:
- Train the student in the awareness that the practice of architecture interacts with the common space that surrounds it and how this practice must contribute to improving it.
- Train the student in multidisciplinary work. Promote the integration of the previous knowledge acquired by the student and contributed by the different areas of knowledge involved in the development of the architectural project (construction, structures, installations, urban planning, sustainability, accessibility, composition and graphic expression) that he has acquired to the length of the subjects developed in the Degree.
- Train the student in collaborative work. The individual project must contribute to a strategic collective project (projects 7) of greater order.
- Train the student in the simultaneous handling of the multiple scales of the architectural project (Projects 7). Facilitate the integration of the different levels of decision-making, ensuring maximum coherence between the interpretation of the city and the territory, and the development of a specific building, including the design of the interior space and construction details.

- 60 - To acquire knowledge of civil, administrative, urban planning, building and professional regulations.
- 61 - To acquire knowledge of feasibility analysis, supervision and coordination of integrated projects.
Learning outcomes of the subject
The student will consciously and autonomously develop the multi-scalar and multi-disciplinary practice of the architectural project, and will be able to inscribe his individual proposal within a collective vision of the whole.
For this, it will coherently articulate the landscape project, the urban planning of an area ofopportunity, and the design of a building and its immediate environment.
The student will provide a complete graphic and written explanation of the building developed in all aspects and scales specific to the Basic Project. Likewise, he will communicate his proposal orally with solvency, accompanied by appropriate models and audiovisual resources.
Syllabus
The contents of this subject are arranged in line with the previously specified objectives, in order to develop the corresponding skills (35-T, 37, 42, 45-T, 46, 47-T, 51, 52, 53, 55 , 57, 58, 59, 60 and 61) detailed above:
- Basic and execution architectural projects, sketches and drafts. - Urban projects. - Aspects affecting the management of works in architectural projects. - Elaboration of functional programs for buildings and urban spaces. - Intervention, conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the built heritage from the point of view of the project. - Architectural barriers. - The architectural criticism in the project. - Passive environmental conditioning, thermal and acoustic insulation, climate control, energy efficiency and natural lighting in the architectural project. - Cataloging the built and urban heritage, and planning its protection from the point of view of the project. - Security, evacuation and protection projects in buildings. - Civil works projects. - Urban layouts and urbanisation, gardening and landscape projects. - Urban rules and ordinances. - Environmental, landscape studies and correction of environmental impacts. - General theories of form, composition and architectural types in their application to the architectural project. - The incidence of the general history of architecture in the project. - Symbolisation, practical functions and ergonomics in the architectural project. - Social needs, quality of life, habitability and basic housing programs. - Ecology, sustainability and principles of conservation of energy and environmental resources in the architectural project. - The architectural, urban and landscape traditions of Western culture: their technical, climatic, economic, social and ideological foundations applied to the architectural project. - Impact on the architectural project of aesthetics, theory and history of fine arts and applied arts. - Relationship between cultural patterns and social responsibilities of the architect in the architectural project. - Vernacular architecture and architectural project. - Architectural project and urban sociology, theory, economy and history. - The architectural project from the methodological foundations of urban planning and territorial and metropolitan planning. - Civil, administrative, urban planning, building and industry regulations relating to professional performance.
Teaching and learning activities

Projects 8 gives continuity to the work previously developed by the students in the subject of Projects 7 with a new project. It takes advantage, as an introduction, of the knowledge acquired and the documentation elaborated on the scope of work in the previous course.
The subject is structured as follows:
1st part: 5 weeks. The work focuses on: the individual development of the architectural project already worked on and the fit of this architectural intervention in a consistent manner with the premises of the program and urban and territorial articulation established in the previous levels. Technical decisions are validated and appropriate adjustments are made. There will be thematic corrections of the different areas of knowledge conveyed through project teachers, with the participation of the whole group, through projects that exemplify specific topics.
2nd part: 5 weeks. We proceed to the definition of some of the construction elements that will contribute to understanding the overall vision. The design of a representative interior space is developed, including the detail of some of its components. The graphic and oral communication of the project is prepared through the creation of models and the intentional selection of the material produced during the course. At the end of this second part, a Basic Project will be delivered.

Evaluation systems and criteria

The evaluation of Projects 8 will be carried out based on two installments:
Deliverable 1. Week 5: The graphic and written documentation of a preliminary building project will be evaluated, taking into account the consistency between the formal options and the methodological amb technical solutions proposed.
- Basic project of the building (scale 1/200)
Delivery 2. Week 10: The graphic and written documentation of the Basic Project will be reviewed, and the design of the interior space and the control of the details that define it will be evaluated. Likewise, the quality of the project's visual communication will be considered.
- Basic project of the revised building (scale 1/100 and 1/50)
- Characteristic architectural element, for example, 1 construction section (scale 1/20 and/or 1/10)
- Definition of an interior space of the project (scale 1/50).
- Main model of the building and its immediate surroundings (scale 1/200 and any other that is considered suitable)
