In Kikujiro (1999),director Takeshi Kitanoliterally tells the story of two characters who must find each other in order to grow. A young boy searching for his mother and the adult -bad company, initially- who goes with him. Takeshi Kitano directs and stars in a tender story which differs enormously from his usual films about violent Yakuza gangsters. A brilliant author.
