There are, at present, viable alternatives to animal testing for conducting impact research. The Department of Basic Sciences at UIC Barcelona aims to stimulate the debate and raise awareness about these alternatives to experimenting on animals.

As such, we have organised a conference where leading experts on this topic will explain when and why animals are used for experiments, how to reduce their involvement and possible alternatives. The conference will be attended by:
