Conference and seminar by architect Neil Leach
The Genetic Architectures Seminar, organised as part of the University Master’s Degree in Biodigital Architecture, will feature a conference and seminar by architect Neil Leach. The seminar Digital Theory Workshop ESARQ 2017 will consist of 4 intensive days, each including 2 conferences by Neil Leach and presentations by students from the University Master’s Degree in Biodigital Architecture.
Neil Leach is an architect, curator and writer. He is currently a visiting lecturer at Harvard University GSD, lecturer at the European Graduate School, visiting lecturer at Tongji University and adjunct lecturer at the University of Southern California. His research focuses on critical theory and digital design, fields in which he published Camouflage (MIT Press, 2006) and Digital Cities (Wiley, 2009). He has also taken part as a curator in numerous exhibitions, including (Im)material Processes: New Digital Techniques for Architecture at the Architecture Biennial Beijing (2008).
The event will be included as part of Architecture Week 2017, an initiative organised by the Barcelona City Council, Association of Architects of Catalonia and Mies van der Rohe Foundation, in partnership with the Barcelona Building Construmat and ARQUINFAD.
