Conference for Religion Teachers

Faculty of Education The Saló de Graus Room. Campus Barcelona.

Contribuir a la reducción de la pobreza y a la promoción de la paz desde la escuela

To commemorate the 1st World Day of the Poor, which will be celebrated at the behest of Pope Francis on 19 November 2017, the Faculty of Education at UIC Barcelona will organise the 3rd Conference for Teachers of Catholic Religion. This event will reflect on Christian values and virtues, with particular emphasis on poverty and promoting peace.

Pope Francis’ message reminds us that Christians should not love with words or speech but with deeds and in truth (1 John 3:18). But, how can we put this idea into practice each day through our work as teachers? The purpose of the conference is, on the one hand, reflect on situations of human misery as challenges to be overcome and, on the other, recognise the value of poverty in and of itself.

Intended for: Pre-primary, primary and secondary-school teachers in the areas of religion, philosophy and ethics.
