Jesús Olivares and Miguel Rodenas Mussons: Arquitectura i emoció: iridiscència i recerca en materials [Architecture and Emotion: Iridescence and Research into Materials]
Jesús Olivares and Miguel Rodenas Mussons hold a degree in Architecture from the University of Alicante (2006) and a University Master's Degree in Sustainable Architecture and Urbanism (2012) from the same institution, which invited them to lecture in the fields of Architectural Projects (2011 and 2013) and Architectural Constructions (2012). They are currently completing a doctorate in the aforementioned field.
They have worked as guest lecturers and speakers at a number of academic and private institutions, including the University of Alicante, the Technical University of Cartagena, the Technical University of Valencia and Columbia University, as guest lecturers on the NY/Paris GSAPP Programme (2012 and 2013). They are founding partners of COR asociados (2006), the architecture studio where they pursue their career as architects. This initiative received the award for best new company from the Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2007. As architects, they have designed a number of outstanding public and private projects recognised by diverse media sources and competitions, such as Arquia/próxima (Funeral Home in Pinoso, Nursery School in Los Alcázares and MUCA, at the 2008-09 and 2010-11 editions, respectively); the COACV Awards (Official Association of Architects of the Community of Valencia); the CTAA Exhibition (Regional Association of Architects of Alicante); the Murcia Regional Architecture Awards; National Award for Ceramic Architecture from ASCER in 2011 for MUCA, a project that was also selected as a finalist at the 12th Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial and 2013 FAD Awards.

A Trellis and a Courtyard, two quintessentially Mediterranean elements that are under increasing siege from global impostures, are venerated in these two works, which explore their timeless nature.
Javier Bernalte Patón, holder of a doctorate in Architecture from the School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM, 1988), has been a member of the Bernalte León y Asociados studio since 2000. Lecturer in the Department of Construction at ETSAM (1998-2000). Professor of Architectural Projects at the School of Architecture in Madrid (UPM, 2006-2011). Professor of Architectural Projects at the School of Architecture in Barcelona (UIC Barcelona, 2009-2013). He is currently a lecturer in the School of Architecture in Toledo, University of Castilla-La Mancha. He has been a regular guest lecturer in the Master's Degree on Bioclimatic Architecture at the School of Architecture in Madrid and is actively involved with the Ceramics Chairs in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.
Design, Industry and Innovation. Ceramics Applied to Architecture conference cicle is a programme of activities and lectures organised in cooperation with the Ceramics Chair of the International University of Catalonia, addressing the latest technological innovations and research with regard to the application of ceramic materials in architecture.
