The fifth and final session of the UIC Barcelona series of lectures on Entrepreneurship 2021 will take place online on 16 November from 6.30 to 7.30 p.m., organised by Alumni & Careers and the vice-rectorate for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer.

Under the title “Entrepreneurship and leadership in the health sector”, guest speaker Lorena Bassas, former UIC Barcelona student and co-founder and country manager (Spain) of Top Doctors, will talk to us about the world of health and new digital technologies that put healthcare professionals in touch with patients all over the world.

As well as sharing her wealth of experience in the healthcare sector, she will also explain how she managed to get 100 million people to sign up to her platform to find the best professionals, and how her company has helped more than 90,000 top-level doctors to acquire an online presence.

She will also explain what it means to be an entrepreneur in the world of health, what challenges she has had to overcome and whether the fact that she is a woman has ever been an obstacle in developing and growing her project. We will also analyse the practicalities of coming up with the idea behind Top Doctors, including how she brought it to fruition, what she had to do to raise the capital she needed, whether she has come across any legal challenges, and more.

The fifth and final session of UIC Barcelona’s series of lectures on Entrepreneurship 2021 will last approximately one hour. It will be possible to attend the talk in person in the Saló de Graus room on the Barcelona Campus, as well as stream it online.
