On 1 October 2021, the University will host the inaugural ceremony of the new rector, Dr Alfonso Méndiz, and of the 2021-2022 academic year at UIC Barcelona.

The event will start at 12 p.m. in the Aula Magna lecture theatre on our Barcelona Campus and will proceed as follows:

• 10 a.m.
  • Mass of the Holy Spirit in the Aula Magna lecture theatre
• 12 p.m.
  • Inauguration of the new rector, Dr Alfonso Méndiz
  • Inaugural ceremony
  • Inaugural lecture “Leadership in Values” by Anna Gener, CEO of Barcelona Savills Aguirre Newman
  • Closing address by the honourable Ms Gemma Geis, minister for the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat of Catalonia
  • Refreshments
