On 5 October 2016, UIC Barcelona School of Architecture will organise a round table discussion entitled Architecture and the Fine Arts, moderated by Dr. Judith Urbano, dean of the Faculty of Humanities at UIC Barcelona.

One of the eleven main competences of the Bachelor's Degree in Architecture is knowledge of the theory and history of fine and applied arts. The aim of this round table is to engage architecture and art history professionals in a discussion about the role of these disciplines, and their evolution throughout history, in the teaching of architecture and the professional world.

Event participants will include Dr. Josep Lluís i Ginovart, director of UIC Barcelona's School of Architecture, Dr. Mireia Freixa, full professor of Art History at the University of Barcelona, Dr. Alberto T. Estévez, full professor at UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, and Dr. Francesc Fontbona, from the Institute for Catalan Studies. Following the event, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in debate with the round table participants.

The session will take place in Casa Amatller and includes a tour of the house.
