Seminar “Patients with advanced diseases with a desire to die: lessons learned”

WeCare Chair Online

The WeCare Chair has organised the 9th International Workshop, which this year is entitled “Patients with advanced diseases with a desire to die: lessons learned”.

The desire to hasten death is a phenomenon that can occur in patients with advanced diseases, and has been linked to various physical, psycho-emotional, social, spiritual, and existential factors. Assessing the desire to hasten death, understanding the underlying factors, and having the right screening and assessment tools are the first steps towards addressing it.

During the seminar, experts from the field of palliative care will present the new scientific evidence on the desire to hasten death, based on a systematic review of the literature and a cross-disciplinary study carried out in several European countries. A clinical case will also be presented to provide tools on how to assess the desire to die in patients with advanced diseases. View the full programme.

The event is aimed at health sciences professionals.

Registration is free and can be completed via this link.
