Start of the Study Aid Olympics

Universitaris Solidaris UIC Barcelona's libraries

The Study Aid Olympics (OSE) is an initiative organised by Coopera ONGD. This involves sponsoring companies and institutions which dedicate 1 euro to funding educational projects for every hour of work or study that you register for in the rooms or libraries for solidarity.

This 2015-20156 academic year is the fifth year that UIC Barcelona has taken part in the Study Aid Olympics. It will take place between 5 November and 5 December in the university's libraries.

The challenge this year is to achieve the more than 122.135 hours of study necessary to set up a livestock farm which will help supply food to children at the Malicounda Bambara school, in a rural community in Malicounda (Senegal). Thanks to your hours of study more than 150 children will be able to improve their nutrition and thus their performance at school. The pupils at the school are from poor families in the area with little or no income, which means that their basic nutritional needs are not fully covered.
