“The Trojan Horse. The intersection between science and contemporary culture”. Conference and workshop with Pablo Casacuberta

Màster Universitari en Gestió Cultural A502

Why do we pay to watch a horror movie? Why do we spend days reading a book?

Pablo Casacuberta, writer, director and winner of the National Prize for Literature of Uruguay, will offer two sessions about how contemporary culture and science come together, in conference format and in a workshop on 22 and 23 February.

Casacuberta will talk about how most of the contemporary themes are presented as a Trojan horse, in which a message is wrapped inside an existential package, creating the illusion that it is presenting a completely different theme from the real one.

He will also address the cognitive, perceptive and neural aspects that contribute to our decisions when choosing different cultural activities we consume.

Two sessions full of information for sharing and discussing the topic, with the help of visual references and metaphors.
