Vocaris Event

UIC Barcelona Barcelona Campus

At the Vocāris Event UIC Barcelona will provide guidance to upper secondary school pupils and their parents. University lecturers and professors will be in charge at this event, where pupils will have the opportunity to reflect and gather resources to help them choose their professional future. The Bertelsmann Foundation will also participate in this event, the foundation specialises in guidance and employment for young people. 

Sessions for pupils

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. pupils will attend three of the six round tables organised into three blocks. Around thirty professors and lecturers from different countries as well as professionals will answer their questions about each of the degree programmes at an individual level. 

Sessions for parents

10 a.m. Workshop on How to offer professional guidance to your child? 

Speaker:  Bertelsmann Foundation. This workshop will answer the above question and other questions, for example: Would you like your child to achieve «professional success»? Does that lie in your hands? How can you help without invading their privacy while also respecting their own personal identity?  Are you preparing your children now to become citizens who are capable of rising to the challenge of joining a global labour market?

12 p.m.   Session on The Catalan University System

Speaker: Dr Xavier Gil Mur, rector. In this session the way the Catalan university system works will be described. It is a successful community consisting of 13 universities with a strong cutting-edge research component that has also fully joined the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The UIC Barcelona model, based on academic rigour and individual attention, will also be described in this session.
