To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the publication of Los secretos de san Gervasio [The Secrets of Sant Gervasi] by writer Carlos Pujol, the research group Carlos Pujol, Literature and Humanism is organising an event entitled “Sherlock Holmes in Barcelona”; a tribute to the first novel in which the famous detective travels to Barcelona to solve a crime.

From 29-31 January, UIC Barcelona will host a series of conferences about the detective story written by this poet, novelist, translator and literary critic, who also published sixteen short stories about Holmes (Fortunas y adversidades de Sherlock Holmes [The Fortunes and Misfortunes of Sherlock Holmes]).  Pujol’s stories will be placed in the context of other contemporary authors from Barcelona who have recreated the character of Sherlock Holmes, such as Joan Perucho, Nestor Luján, Marcel Miralles, Jaume Gabaldà, Sergio Colomino and Lem Ryan.

The event will also include an exhibit with comics, posters, illustrations and books from the Joan Proubasta Sherlock Holmes Collection at the Arús Library.

In partnership with: BcNegra, Biblioteca Sant Gervasi - Joan Maragall, Biblioteca Pública Arús and Círculo Holmes.

Place: Saló de Graus
