11 Catalan Industrial Landscapes Featured in Aitor Estévez’s New Book

In January 2015, Aitor Estévez, an architect, photographer and lecturer of Form Analysis at the ESARQ School of Architecture, published Industrial, a new book that explores contemporary industrial landscapes in terms of their visual impact and from an architectural point of view.

Industrial is a photo project that takes a look at 11 industrial companies in different parts of Catalonia: Simon, Ciments Molins, La Fou, Uriach, Damm (premises in Barcelona and El Prat), La Vanguardia, Europastry, Mesosetetic, Escofet and Nylstar.

This 144-page coffee table book is a visual overview of the magnitude of industry, its interiors and infrastructure: the unseen landscapes that have transformed our society. These photographs focus on different angles and new perspectives to unleash these spaces’ expressive force.

Aitor Estévez is responsible for the book’s photography and design, while Pau Fornt handles management and production.

Aitor Estévez graduated from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de San Sebastián. He has always had close ties with the world of photography and has been combining his work as an architect with professional architectural photography and other forms of artistic expression since 2008. In 2012, he became a lecturer at the ESARQ School of Architecture, where he teaches the subject Form Analysis.
