4th Conference of UIC Department of Management by Missions and Corporate Governance
Industrial Química del Nalón (IQN) hosted the 4th Company Conference of the UIC Department of Management by Missions and Corporate Governance on Wednesday, 6 November 2013. During the course of the day, different experts analysed corporate mission and values as elements capable of inspiring confidence in a company.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Department’s corporate sponsors and included an opening address by José María Ortiz, the Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid.
Ortiz, who holds a PhD in Philosophy, referred to corporate mission and values as key elements that inspire confidence in a company’s representatives. Ortiz was the Director of Corporate Governance at the Hay Group and has directed numerous management development programmes as a management consultant for major Spanish companies.
The day included a tour of IQN's facilities and presentations of the Management by Missions programme as implemented at IQN that were delivered by Managing Director Rufino Orejas and other company executives.
The session concluded with a case study presented by Pedro Luis Fernández, the Managing Director of General de Alquiler de Maquinaria (GAM), and a workshop in which participants were able to share work experiences and strategies.
IQN is a founder sponsor of the Department, which was set up in April 2012 and is sponsored by seven companies currently implementing Management by Missions as a management model.
