60 students start classes for the new Experience Campus

Yesterday, sixty students started their classes for UIC Barcelona’s own qualification of Senior University Graduate in Culture, Science and Society as part of the Experience Campus. The majority of them completed the introductory module last year.

The Experience Campus is a new way of going to university: to enjoy learning, learn to re-learn, share, and get up to date. It is a three-year academic development project with the same demands as university, personal supervision by the lecturers, and individual and group work outside the classroom.

On the first day of class, the students were welcomed to the University. The academic coordinator of the Experience Campus, Dr. Salvador Vidal, gave the inaugural lecture. This emphasised one of the very characteristic features of the UIC Barcelona programme: fostering teamwork.

Yesterday, the optional workshops that will be run during the year were also presented, in a session given by Roser Santigosa, Director of Student Services.

The Campus offers courses across various areas of knowledge: history, art, philosophy, literature, science, technology, law, economics, sociology, psychology and health sciences, through which participants examine in depth today's culture, science and society. The optional workshops focus on language learning, new technologies, social networks, music and theatre, among others.
