6th UNIV Forum: Friendship: A Model for a New Citizenship

For the sixth consecutive year, the UIC Faculty of Humanities will host the Catalonia phase of the UNIV Forum. In the 2014 edition, nearly two hundred students participated and two of the papers chosen by the UIC earned awards at the Forum in Rome.

The UNIV Forum is a multidisciplinary conference open to all UIC students as well as students from other universities to discuss a topic by presenting papers prepared by students with a teacher's help. In the local phase for Catalonia, students will present papers for the Forum to be held in Rome in 2015.

The first paper at the UNIV Forum at the UIC will be read by Dr. Antoni Bosch-Veciana at 6 p.m. on Thursday, 16 October 2014, on the Barcelona campus, and at 6 p.m. on Thursday, 23 October 2014, on the Sant Cugat campus.

The topic discussed at the 2015 UNIV Forum will be "friendship: a model for a new citizenship". As explained by the organizers of the forum in Rome, "While many disciplines and studies lament a lack of friendship on a personal and social level, few scholars are willing to devote the time and study necessary to develop positive proposals to address the reality. And so, in UNIV 2015, we are going to address what is perhaps one of the biggest lacuna of our time."

In the 2014 edition, two of the papers selected by the UIC won awards at the UNIV Forum in Rome and one earned first prize. In total, nearly 200 students from different universities participated in a wide range of disciplines.
