The Catalonia University Championships (CCU) were held in Sant Cugat on Thursday, 12 March 2015, at different sports facilities made available for the event. The championships attracted a total of 40 teams made up of about 800 athletes from different Catalan universities.

The individual finals were organized using a final four format, which meant that, in most sports, the day was spent with four teams competing in semi-finals to be able to play the final. The finals were in men’s and women’s handball, basketball, volleyball, rugby and indoor football, plus 11-a-side men’s football and 7-a-side women’s football.

Three award ceremonies were held after the respective finals with the presence of figures from the Catalan university system, as well as Ivan Tibau, the Catalan government's Secretary General for Sport, and Xavier Amador from Institutional Relations of Barcelona City Council's Department of Sport.

At the award ceremonies, the representatives of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) included Dr. Belén Zárate, the Vice Rector for the University Community, and Alberto M. Canals, the Manager of the UIC.

In the afternoon, the Catalan University Sports Association also presented a plaque to Xavier Tizón, the town councillor for Sport, and Esther Salat, the town councillor for Education of Sant Cugat, in appreciation for the city's collaboration and support for the 30th edition of the Catalonia University Championships.

It was the 30th edition of the Championships and this year the UIC was able to organize the event, thanks to the support of the Secretary General for Sport and the cooperation of Sant Cugat city council.
