ADE students visit the Barcelona Stock Exchange to find out at first-hand about the challenges of the financial markets
This visit was undertaken within the framework of the I University Financial Education Event at UIC Barcelona
Students taking the Financial Marketing subject in the Faculty of Business Administration and Management (ADE) were able to find out at first-hand about the challenges of the financial markets.
After inaugurating the event, the head of Studies and Publications at the stock exchange, Jaume Carbonell, described the tools available on the website of the Barcelona Stock Exchange.
Subsequently, the head of Market Analysis, Damià Rey, gave a talk about the importance of financial markets. He underlined the fact that there are five large challenges which all countries have to face, and that understanding these is indispensable in order to find out about financial market reality at a global level. These are the ageing population, changes to production processes and the fourth industrial revolution, as well as digitalisation and the sharing economy, national debt and finally, populism.
The ADE students were given a guided tour around the electronic trading platform, after which they were provided with an explanation of how the platform works.
