Agreement between Catalan Union of Hospitals and UIC

The Catalan Union of Hospitals and the UIC have signed an agreement on curricular internships and cooperation in education that will support the Master's Programme in Health Management taught by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The
signing of the agreement took place at the UIC on Friday, 4 May 2012, and was
attended by Dr. Helena Ris, the president of
the Catalan Union of Hospitals, and Dr. Albert Balaguer, the
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Through
this agreement, those studying in the Master's Programme in Health Management
will be able to undertake curricular internships in the Catalan Union of
Hospitals.

The
Master's Programme prepares students for roles in clinical management and the
management of functional areas and services, and for leading professional teams
in healthcare centres and when providing care. This agreement responds to the
willingness of both organizations to collaborate on theoretical and practical
training in the field of health.

Catalan
Union of Hospitals will organize the internships at its head office. Students
undertaking internships will be assigned a tutor by the Catalan Union of
Hospitals. This tutor will be responsible for planning, coordinating and
supervising the internship. Meanwhile, the UIC will assign an academic tutor
who will be tasked with monitoring and assessing the internship.

The Catalan Union of Hospitals is an association
of business organizations that are dedicated to providing health and social
services. Regardless of their legal structure, the partner organizations will
make their financial, human and technological resources available for the
purposes of the agreement to guarantee high-quality care.
