Alfred García, among the artists invited to the World Peace Concert

The Scholas Occurrentes Foundation is looking to raise funds to support the education of children and young people around the world

UIC Barcelona alumnus and former Operación Triunfo participant Alfred García recently performed alongside over 20 artists in the first World Peace Concert, which took place in Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium in front of more than 70,000 people.

The World Peace Concert, promoted by the Starlite Foundation, brought together a slew of renowned artists such as Luis Fonsi, Miguel Poveda, Sara Baras, Ainhoa Arteta, Diego Torres, Rosana, Juan Magán, Marta Sánchez, Antonio José, Aitana, Sebastián Yatra, Carlos Rivera, Ana Guerra, Miriam Rodríguez, Manu Tenorio, Carlos Baute, David Bustamante and India Martínez.

The aim of this charitable initiative, organised in cooperation with 17 Spanish-speaking countries, is to raise funds for the Scholas Occurrentes Foundation, an organisation which emerged following a personal request by Pope Francis to Universal Music. The proceeds will therefore go towards building schools in developing countries.

This charitable show will visit a number of different countries in 2019 and feature artists from a host of musical genres, who will pool their efforts to help children and young people around the world. After its initial stop in Madrid, the tour will continue on to Mexico, Colombia and Panama.
