Alumni Association Reunites UIC Barcelona's First Medicine Graduates

On Wednesday, 29 April 2015, the Sant Cugat campus played host to the Alumni Association’s reunion of UIC Barcelona's first graduates in Medicine. The event was attended by around thirty lecturers and alumni and was jointly organized by the Alumni Association and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. This pleasant, intimate reunion allowed those present to share experiences from their residencies and swap stories regarding the first steps in their professional careers.

Dr. Albert Balaguer, the Faculty Dean, and Dr. Marta Elorduy, the Director of the Medicine programme, thanked these first graduates for their trust and commitment. Similar sentiments were expressed by Dr. Xavier Corbella, the Assistant Dean, and Marianna Zanuy, the Director of the Alumni Association. The former students also expressed their thanks and declared that they had been superbly trained, not just technically but as people, and that they felt the benefits of this training every day. On the subject of their residencies and final examinations, the alumni emphasized that not only the students but also the faculty was assessed, and expressed their delight at the fact that all of the first graduates passed and were able to secure a position.
