Architecture Students will be able to study up to one year of their degree programme at Korea University College of Engineering
UIC Barcelona School of Architecture has just signed an exchange agreement with the Korean university, which will benefit up to four students per academic year
UIC Barcelona School of Architecture and Korea University College of Engineering have just signed an exchange agreement that will allow students on the Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture to study up to one whole academic year at the Korean university.
The agreement establishes a maximum of two students per semester (four per academic year) who may benefit from the exchange programme. If the number of places requested per academic year does not exceed the limit of four, the beneficiary students will be able to extend their exchange for a maximum period of one academic year. This is a two-way agreement that will allow students from the Korean university to carry out international exchanges at our University under the same conditions.
The agreement was signed by the rector Alfonso Méndiz on behalf of UIC Barcelona, and by Yongchan Kim, dean of Korea University College of Engineering. The signing of the agreement was also attended by assistant director of International Relations at UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, Carmen Mendoza-Arroyo; lecturer Maria Isabel Gabarró, as well as Daniel Oh, dean of Smarts Cities at the Korea University College of Engineering.
“Internationalisation through mobility agreements with universities such as Korea's helps diversify and improve students’ learning environment as it has the potential to change their lives and ultimately produce graduates with international knowledge and intercultural awareness”, explains Carmen Mendoza-Arroyo.
“This collaboration agreement expands the radius of the teaching we offer students at our School in the field of smart cities and, in turn, the fact of being able to welcome Korean students into our classrooms will allow an enriching flow between Western and Eastern architectural trends of thought”, says Maria Isabel Gabarró.
Korea University College of Engineering is currently ranked among the top 50 engineering faculties in the world. Founded in 1962, it aims to prepare students to become leaders in the field of science and engineering, having successfully graduated more than 30,000 students who studied in their classrooms.
