Audiovisual Communication students take part in ‘MeetingDoc- Psoriasis’

The aim of the programme MeetingDoc – Psoriasis is to generate and disseminate audiovisual content relating to the world of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis in documentary form through contact between students/artists and patients.

The main goal is to raise awareness of the factors surrounding this disease and lend a voice to those whose daily lives are affected by psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis; all from the free and creative documentary-film perspective of its creators.

The project forms part of the 4th-year class “Documentary”, in turn part of the Faculty of Communication Sciences’ Degree in Audiovisual Communication at UIC Barcelona and taught by Dr Ricard Mamblona. This class will also include an information session on psoriasis led by Celia Marín Rancel, President of the Spanish psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis patients’ association Psoriasis en Red and member of the Board of Directors at EUROPSO, the European Federation of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Patients’ Associations.

The result of the work may be included in the 2nd International Festival of Short Films and Art about Diseases, FICAE 2016*
