Banco Santander and UIC Barcelona renew their commitment to higher education
The agreement, in force for the next two years, promotes grants, research, entrepreneurship and employability.
UIC Barcelona and Banco Santander have renewed their collaboration agreement, reaffirming a historic commitment dating back to 2004. This agreement demonstrates the commitment of both institutions to access to higher education, academic excellence and innovation. The new agreement, signed by the rector of UIC Barcelona, Dr Alfonso Méndiz, and the director of Santander Universities, Mrs Susana García Espinel, provides continuity to the initial agreement established 20 years ago.
The agreement focuses on five strategic areas: study grants, mobility, research, employability and entrepreneurship, and includes scholarships and awards that will benefit 110 students. These include the Santander Scholarships for Erasmus and the 360º Excellence Scholarships, aimed at rewarding academic performance and social commitment, as well as specific grants for complementary training practices and entrepreneurial projects.
Rector Alfonso Méndiz stressed the importance of this alliance, “This agreement strengthens our mission to train professionals committed to social and human development. We thank Banco Santander for its continued trust in UIC Barcelona and its commitment to the education and employability of our students.”
Susana García went on to stress, “our gratitude to the university for the trust we have built up over the last two decades, which allows us to help more than 100 students, researchers and entrepreneurs every year thanks to the programmes that we jointly promote”.
A commitment to spreading knowledge and social impact
With this agreement, both institutions reinforce their commitment to education as a fundamental pillar to build a more just society and prepared for the challenges of the future. Over the course of two decades, this joint effort has demonstrated its ability to transform the lives of thousands of students, fostering their personal and professional development.
