Banús analyses cultural aspects of crisis at international conference in Moscow
Dr. Enrique Banús, the director of the Charlemagne Institute for European Studies, attended the seventh Convention of the Russian International Studies Association (RISA) on Friday and Saturday, 28-29 September 2012, at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
The
main topic of discussion at the conference was “Resources for Modernization:
Opportunities and Limits in the International Context”. Dr. Banús took part in the second session, which was titled, “The
Crisis in Europe: Problems and their Solutions”, with the paper “Cultural Roots
and Consequences of the Crisis”, in which he analysed the cultural aspects of
the crisis.
Acting
as moderators during the session were Dr. Alexey Gromyko, the
deputy director of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences
and president of the Russian Association of European Studies; and Professor
Mark Entin, the director of the European Studies Institute at the Moscow State
Institute of International Relations.
