Boi Ruiz attends the commemoration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ 72nd anniversary

At the event organised by the United Nations Association, the UIC Barcelona lecturer and director of the University Institute for Patient Care read some of the articles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

On 10 December, as part of Human Rights Day, the Palau Macaya in Barcelona hosted the commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The event was chaired by Bernat Solé, minister for Foreign Action, Institutional Relations and Transparency, and by Pilar Díaz, deputy councillor for International Relations of the Barcelona City Council.

During the event, several healthcare staff representatives read articles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in recognition of the work they do around the world.

Dr Boi Ruiz, lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and director of the University Institute for Patient Care, was asked to read article 27 of the Declaration, which underlines that “everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits. Everyone has the right to the protection of moral and material interests resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production of which he is the author”.

The commemoration also included a conference given by Cinta Pascual, president of the Catalan Association for Assistance Services.
