Can Families Be Guaranteed the Right to Housing?

A seminar on family impoverishment and access to housing will officially inaugurate the UIC's new Family Policies Lecture Hall, created with the support of the Joaquim Molins Figueras Foundation.

The UIC’s Institute of Advanced Family Studies (IESF) and the Joaquim Molins Figueras Foundation have scheduled the seminar on families’ right to housing for Tuesday, 22 October 2013, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The seminar will be the official act that inaugurates the Family Policies Lecture Hall, which was constituted in May 2013 with the support of the Joaquim Molins Figueras Foundation. A roundtable discussion will be held at 11:30 a.m. to debate the policies that must be carried out in order to guarantee families access to housing.

The seminar will be attended by representatives of the UIC’s ESARQ School of Architecture and the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences.

One of the objectives of the Joaquim Molins Figueras Foundation is to broaden understanding of the situation of the family today and pass on proposals to those in positions of public responsibility and to different social stakeholders. The Institute of Advanced Family Studies was created at the UIC in 2004 and was the first university institute in Spain to include the promotion of study and research into family policies among its objectives.
