Carlos Andreu Reveals Keys to Self-Discovery at UIC
On Monday, 11 February 2013, Carlos Andreu, a motivational speaker and lecturer, gave the lecture «Know Yourself», organized by the student association AcrossUIC. The lecture took place in the UIC's main lecture hall.
During the talk, Andreu offered the audience some tips on how to get to know themselves better. According the expert, a great part of the key to success for future professionals lies in self-discovery, which allows people to perform better in their future profession.
As he discussed during his lecture, success in life depends on just a few variables: personal satisfaction, self-awareness and a positive mindset. "Discovering your strengths and weaknesses allows you to know what obstacles you’ll come up against in life”, explained Andreu.
During the talk, Andreu used the DISC personality test and drawings made members of the audience to share the guidelines and tools necessary to improve personal aptitudes and discover new ones.
Carlos Andreu has a Law degree from the Universidad de Zaragoza and an MBA from IESE Business School. He is a lecturer at several universities and manages his own consulting, training and development company. He is also the author of the best-selling book Del Ataúd a la Cometa (From the Coffin to the Comet), which is published by Viceversa and is already in its eighth edition.
The lecture was the first of the year organized by the student group AcrossUIC. Its advisor is Miriam Vidal-Quadras, a professor in the Faculty of Humanities.
