On Wednesday, 18 January, computer engineer Carlos Cosials, director of the Executive Master’s Degree in Advanced Analytics and Data Science at UIC Barcelona, was appointed new president of Aseitec, the Association of Computer and Communication Technologies Companies of Catalonia of Catalonia. This association, linked to the CECOT association, is a Catalan business organisation that brings together IT and technology companies with the aim of defending the interests of its members in various areas. 

Cosials takes on his presidency with the will to increase participation of the entity, improve visibility of Aseitec’s work. “Given the weight of our sector, the challenges we will be presenting for the next four years will involve improving visibility in terms of the importance that our sector contributes to GDP,” the engineer stated.

The UIC Barcelona teacher takes over from the former president, Pedro Gómez. Cosials director and lecturer of the Executive Master’s Degree in Advanced Analytics and Data Science will combine his position as president with teaching responsibilities at UIC Barcelona.
