The programme was kicked off by Dr. Antoni Gómez, the President of the COEC, and Dr. Lluis Giner, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. It was attended by several UIC students and alumni, as well as other members of the dental association. The refresher programme was held on Friday and Saturday to update and refresh the knowledge and skills of dentists, dental technicians and dental hygienists.

The programme was made up of different sessions on theory and practice taught by Dental Faculty lecturers and industry experts. Workshops and demonstrations were also held.

The programme received support from different companies in the industry, namely, BienAir, Densply, DVD, Fadente, GSK, HenrySchein, Inibsa, IvoclarVivadent, Lira, MIS, PHIB, Proclinic, Straumann and Vatech.

The best final degree projects and clinical cases were also announced. The Miquel Cortada Award was presented to the best master's degree project, which was by Jaume Maestros in the Master’s Degree Programme in Periodontics.

The Dentistry Refresher Programme was held for the first time at the Official Association of Dentists of Catalonia (COEC). The Dentistry Alumni Reunion was also held at the association and included speeches by Dr. Miquel Cortada, the first Dean of the UIC Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Lluis Giner, the current Dean, and Marianna Zanuy, the Director of the Alumni Association.
