Chema Díez speaks at the first edition of Workplace Strategy: FM, Barcelona 2016
On 19 May, Chema Díez, head of repairs and maintenance at UIC Barcelona, took part as a speaker in the first edition of the event Workplace Strategy: FM, Barcelona 2016, organised by the company Grupo Vía.
During his presentation, Chema Díez discussed his first BIM project for Facility Management, which will be analysed as part of our International Master's Degree in BIM Processes. The project's parametric design and the work undertaken to determine whether the workplaces are suitable for each worker and equipped with adequate technology and tools have helped to improve the way in which assets, space and occupation are managed.
The conference focused on the changes currently taking place in the way companies work and how these changes are affecting workplace design and the role of Facility Management (FM). The event brought together, on the one hand, FM experts, who analysed their role in workplace design, efficiency and maintenance, and, on the other, representatives from the leading architecture, interior design and consultancy firms, who shared industry-related keys, trends and success stories. Participants included Cushman & Wakefield, the Catalan Facility Management Association, TBK, Ylab Arquitectos, ZigZag, Nuklee, Miàs Architects, GAC 3000, 3G Office and UIC Barcelona.
