Coco Cugat: “We architects have to constantly challenge ourselves”
The architect and UIC Barcelona School of Architecture alumnus acted as patron at this year’s graduation ceremony for the first and second edition of our Master’s Degree in Archictecture and Design Business Management
On September 17, UIC Barcelona hosted the graduation ceremony for students of the first and second edition of the Master’s Degree in Architecture and Design Business Management. Architect and UIC Barcelona School of Architecture alumnus, Coco Cugat, served as patron for both editions and gave a masterclass in which she provided an overview of her long career with internationally renowned companies such as Skidmore Owings&Merrill LLP (SOM), Foster and Partners and Samsung C&T Corporation.
In her masterclass, Coco Cugat urged the new graduates to constantly challenge themselves and gave them three key tips to help them in their professional future: to ensure they can work as a member of a team, turn problems into opportunities and leave their comfort zone behind. “Whatever you do, enjoy it, and your job will become your passion,” she concluded.
The graduation ceremony was led by the director of the Master’s Degree in Architecture and Design Business Management, Maria Isabel Gabarró, who thanked the two groups of students for their hard work and highlighted the increasingly important role played by professionals specialised in business management in the field of architecture and design.
The event was also attended by master's lecturer Carme Farreras, as well as Pablo Antonino and Marc-Alex Montenegro, respectively general manager and sales director of Santa & Cole, one of the programme's sponsoring companies.
