He urged them never to lose their sense of humour in their day-to-day lives. He said, “You can achieve so much if you’re cheerful. It helps you communicate much better, create the right conditions for creativity and identify better solutions”.

He also encouraged them to “be brave and have courage”. Finally he spoke to them about business ethics. This is the only option if you want to grow as people and find happiness”.

Dr. Pedro García del Barrio, the Vice Dean of the Faculty, then said, “Society demands upright, sincere professionals with drive and hope; executives who know the difference between pointless complaints and constructive criticism. People you can recognize by the competence, integrity and honesty they show in their professional lives and their personal and family environment”.

He also explained that the degree in Business Administration at UIC Barcelona “strives to ensure its graduates embody the true university spirit by cultivating the values that are much needed in society. Christian humanism has helped us understand that human dignity transcends productivity and that each person is therefore irreplaceable”.

After presentation of the diplomas, there was time for a few words from the student representatives, who addressed the audience with speeches in which they recalled their years spent at the university.

Toni Mora, the Dean of the Faculty, then brought the ceremony to a close.
