Conrado Aparicio, guest speaker at the World Biomaterials Congress and at the Frontiers Forum on Next-Generation Biomaterials in Dental Medicine
The vice rector for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer at UIC Barcelona, Conrado Aparicio, has travelled to South Korea and Hong Kong to take part in two leading international meetings in East Asia as an expert in the field of biomaterials
Aparicio made his first stop in the city of Daegu (South Korea) where the 12th World Biomaterials Congress (WBC) was held from 26 to 31 May. As part of the congress, the vice rector was invited to give a presentation on the study of surfaces to prevent infection around transepithelial abutments, a project that he has been working on at the Study and Control of Oral Infections (SCOI) research group at UIC Barcelona.
On 2 June, Conrado Aparicio then travelled to Hong Kong to take part as a guest speaker at the 2nd Frontiers Forum on Next-Generation Biomaterials in Dental Medicine, organised by the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong. As an expert in applied biomaterials in the dental field, Aparicio joined leading international speakers at the forum, which has the main goal of creating a space to share the latest advances in dental biomaterials, while exploring innovative approaches that advance research into dental materials and improve oral health.
The vice rector’s participation in leading international conferences demonstrates his outstanding position in biomaterials research, and in the development of new technologies that provide innovative solutions to improving oral health. In addition, it speaks to the university's prestigious status in this area of research at an international level.
