The UIC's ESARQ School of Architecture is one of the six Catalan university centres offering architecture studies that form part of the Council of Schools of Architecture of Catalonia (CEARQCAT). The main aim of CEARQCAT is to study, reflect on and analyse all aspects related to architecture studies in Catalonia.

The Council of Schools of Architecture of Catalonia (CEARQCAT) was created on Friday, 4 July 2014, at the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB), which forms part of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC). CEARQCAT is made up of six architecture schools at public and private universities in Catalonia with teaching programs on architecture. It will promote activities aimed at comprehensive training of the graduates of the architecture schools in the Council.

The aim of the Council is to promote and develop the comprehensive training of architecture students, and to provide information on teaching, research and professional activities at the schools of architecture in the Council. It will also promote exchanges and agreements between educational, research and professional institutions and associations.

The members of CEARQCAT are the directors of the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura del Vallès and the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona, both of which form part of the UPC; the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura of Universitat Rovira i Virgili; the Escola Politècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Girona, which belongs to the Universitat de Girona; the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura La Salle of Universitat Ramon Llull, and the UIC's ESARQ School of Architecture.

Jordi Ros, the Director of the ETSAB, will be the first to chair CEARQCAT for a term of three years.
