Dentium and UIC Barcelona give a practical course on Bone Regeneration in Implantology as part of the Research Chair renewal
On 4-5 November, the Sant Cugat Campus of UIC Barcelona hosted the Hands-on Cadaver Intensive Course in Advance Implant Surgery: Hard and Soft Tissue Management, as part of the Research Chair for Bone Regeneration in Implantology at UIC Barcelona
UIC Barcelona and the Korean company Dentium established the Research Chair for Bone Regeneration in Implantology in 2018, the result of both institutions’ desire to make innovative dental techniques and products related to bone regeneration available to industry professionals. As part of this practical course, Dentium and UIC Barcelona have renewed their collaboration commitment.
The Research Chair for Bone Regeneration in Implantology is directed by Dr Federico Hernández-Alfaro, full professor and head of the Area of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Medicine and Pathology of the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Dentistry. The main aims of this initiative are to perform research and disseminate knowledge on the field of bone regeneration in Dentistry.
During these years, a prospective clinical study has been conducted in which the efficacy of materials used in different regeneration techniques have been carried out, and courses have been organised on the latest techniques in implant surgery and the management of hard and soft tissue in the Sant Cugat Campus’ innovative facilities, on animal models and cadavers, in efforts to promote the transfer of knowledge.
