Department of Management by Missions and Corporate Governance takes part in UIC's ADEN Week

Dr. Carlos Rey, the head of the department, led a seminar, while Toni Cabrero, of Semillas Fitó, participated in one of the networking sessions.

This year, the UIC has once again partnered with the ADEN Business School on its MBA in International Management. Additional credits towards this course are available at the annual ADEN Academic Week in Barcelona, which features seminars, networking sessions and company visits.

On the first day of the event, Dr. Carlos Rey, the Head of the Department of Management by Missions and Corporate Governance, led the seminar "Management by Missions: A New Way of Running Businesses". During this seminar, Rey outlined the innovative management model championed by the department, described the various ventures in which the approach has been put into practice and presented the results of research in the field.

Meanwhile, Toni Cabrero, the Head of Sales and Marketing for the Americas at Semillas Fitó, one of the companies that sponsor the department, took part in one of several international networking sessions. Here, representatives from companies across the different industrial sectors exchanged ideas and explored new business prospects in Spain and Latin America alike with the students in attendance.

The idea behind ADEN Week is to offer participants specific training on strategic management and leadership skills. Business management students from nine Latin American countries (Panama, Guatemala, Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Ecuador) attended this year's event.

Participants had the chance to attend expert-led seminars on leadership and motivation, change management and management by missions, as well as to visit organizations such as the Barcelona Port Authority, Caves Freixenet and the Mahou Group, all of which have become standard-bearers for their respective business internationalization models.
