The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at UIC Barcelona, in cooperation with the Teaching Innovation Classroom, recently organised the 2nd Teaching Innovation Workshop at the University. This workshop, intended for members of the university teaching staff, focused on the methodology known as Design Thinking. This methodology links creative thinking to analytical thinking as part of a process which promotes empathy, teamwork and fun in efforts to generate innovative ideas adapted to the real needs of people.

The workshop was led and organised by lecturer Jasmina Berbegal, with support from three other lecturers: Nina Magomedova, Alba Manresa and Marçal Amadó. The workshop included an explanation and analysis, in the form of practical exercises, of the methodology that is revolutionising learning and taught teachers how to apply it in the classroom. Other objectives of the workshop were to experience active learning based on the resolution of challenges and improve cross-disciplinary skills by working in multidisciplinary teams. Attendees also had the opportunity to share practices and experiences in the field of teaching innovation.
