Director of AQU Presents New Accreditation Guide for Official Degrees in Catalonia at UIC
On Thursday, 2 May 2013, Josep Anton Ferré Vidal, the Director of the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU), presented the recently published «Accreditation Guide for Undergraduate and Graduate Degrees» in the auditorium of the UIC Faculty of Education.
The objective of the event, aimed at all those involved in the process of accrediting official undergraduate and graduate degrees, was to present and discuss the content of the guide. After the presentation, which was attended by sixty people, including representatives from every UIC faculty, there was a question and answer session moderated by Dr. Jaume Armengou, the Vice Rector of Academic Organization and Teaching Staff, so that those who participate in the accreditation process could express their views on the issue.
The agency, committed to the transparency of its activities, has begun a public consultation process so that anyone interested in the issue can voice his or her opinion before the new accreditation criteria are approved. The event at the UIC was one of the information sessions about the new guide that the AQU is holding at all Catalan universities in order to include everyone involved in the accreditation process and canvass their views.
