Dr. Daniel Buser is a professor and the Head of the Department of Oral Surgery and Stomatology at the University of Bern in Switzerland. He worked at Harvard University from 1989-1991, the Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in 1995 and the University of Melbourne in 2007. Dr. Buser has acted as president of several academic associations, including the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) from 1996-1997. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Osteology Foundation since 2004 and the President of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) since 2009. Throughout his career he has received several scientific awards from professional organizations such as the ITI, the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).

His main research areas focus on the regeneration of tissue surrounding dental implants, surface technology and guided bone regeneration. He is the author and co-author of over 250 publications and several textbooks, including a book about Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) and two ITI Treatment Guides. Dr. Buser is currently recognized worldwide for his work in the field of implantology.

During the lecture, which was attended by over 170 people, Dr. Buser discussed implants in the aesthetic zone and presented the successful results of many of the studies he has carried out over the course of his career. The lecture was held for UIC students and professors as well as implantologists and professionals with either surgical or prosthodontic experience with implants, such as dentists, professors and graduate students.
