The Faculty of Dentistry at UIC Barcelona participated once again this year in the prestigious International EAO-SEPES Conference organised by the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO) and the Spanish Society for Stomatological and Aesthetic Prostheses (SEPES). 

During the first day of the EAO scientific meeting, Dr Federico Hernández-Alfaro gave a talk entitled “Use of autogenous bone grafts”, focusing on current challenges in relation to atrophic edentulous ridges. Likewise, during the SEPEs annual conference, Dr Octavi Ruiz and Dr Albert Barroso, professors from the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Faculty, gave a practical-theoretical workshop entitled “Hard and soft tissue management in advanced implants” on different bone regeneration techniques to implant teeth.   

A group of students from the University Master’s Degree in Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry gave various presentations in the categories of clinical posters and scientific-clinical papers.  In this latter category, the paper given by Luis Jané, a second year master’s student, was a finalist for the SEPES Junior Award for best paper.
