Dr Jasmina Berbegal undertakes dissemination activities on behalf of the faculty at two international conferences
Dr Jasmina Berbegal, a Professor from the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences participated in the XXV Meeting of the Economics of Education Association, organised by the association and held in Badajoz on 30 June and 1 July.
During the conference, Dr Berbegal moderated a session on Educational Policy and presented two papers: "University research parks: What is their real impact on university research output?", and "Analysing the determinants of student 'loyalty in the higher education context: The case of the Catalan University system".
The first of the papers is the result of a final master’s degree project undertaken by student Adrián Guerrero, whose dissertation was supervised by Professor Berbegal, as part of the programme for the Master's Degree in Business Administration and Production Systems at UIC Barcelona.
The second paper is the result of an agreement signed with AQU Catalunya for the exploitation of data on graduates of Catalan universities. In that case, the co-authors were also UIC Barcelona professors Marta Mas and Frederic Marimon, as well as Professor Josep Llach from the University of Girona.
The research dissemination activity carried out throughout this academic year also continued over the past week. On 6 and 7 July, Professor Berbegal attended the 1st International Conference on Advanced Research Methods and Analytics, held in Valencia, during which she was a member of the scientific committee. During the conference she also presented a project entitled "Firm survival strategies for entrepreneurs and freelancers in the translation and interpreting sector”, written along with Professor Clara Gieure from the Catholic University of Valencia, as well as a project entitled "Examining technology transfer activities at universities: Does one recipe explain all outcomes?” along with master’s degree student Adrián Guerrero.
