Dr Josep Serrano organises a commemorative day for the centenary since the death of Enric Prat de la Riba

Dr Josep Serrano, a Professor from the Faculty of Law, participated as the secretary of the organising committee in an event commemorating the centenary of the death of Enric Prat de la Riba, President of the Commonwealth of Catalonia. 

The event was organised by the Institute of Catalan Studies, the Catalan Society of Legal Studies, the Barcelona Provincial Government and the Enric Prat de la Riba Chair for Local Legal Studies.  The opening session was given by the Minister for Culture, Santi Vila.

During the event the various facets and roles of the intellectual and politician were discussed.  In the sessions Prat de la Riba was talked about as a location in the contemporary history of Catalonia, its relationship with municipalism and the fight against political corruption during the era of the Regionalist League.
